We are Yoga Spirit Academy, the only 200-hour yoga teacher training program in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Education that honors body, mind and spirit

Yoga Spirit Academy offers excellent, accessible and affordable non-denominational yoga teacher training. Classes meet one weekend a month for one year in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Classes are held on Friday evening, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. Additional independent study is required to complete the 200 hours.

The location for class meetings is East Side Christian Church Activity Center, 1427 S. Indianapolis Ave., just south of the University of Tulsa campus. It is conveniently located one and a half miles south of I-244 and one mile north of I-51/64 (Broken Arrow Expy.), one block east of the intersection of Harvard Ave. and 15th Street.

The Yoga Spirit Academy program covers

Teaching techniques - the theory and practice of postures, meditation and yoga breathing

Teaching methodology - assisting and adjusting poses, knowing the modifications, benefits and contraindications of poses

Yoga anatomy and physiology - how muscles, bones, and connective tissues work together. See the anatomy and physiology page for information about our 20-hour anatomy courses.

Yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics - the history and philosophy of yoga, and living the life of a yogin/yogini 

Teaching practicum - practice in teaching and observing others as they teach

Independent studies - projects of interest to the student

Our program can be completed in one year or students may take up to three years to finish all course requirements.
